I am nearly in my thirties and have adored animals for most of my life. I recollect that from a minor age I always wanted to work with animals. I remember back to when I was about ten and used to have my own hamster, I used to adore it I literally used to take it everywhere with me and I recall that there was this one time that I actually took it to school with me, only for the teacher to find out and send me home.

Well plenty about that, this is in truth more about how I made my changeover from being a veterinary surgeon to looking after animals in Africa. My boss in the vet shop is from South Africa and he always had a dream to return back to his home nation. When his best friend decided to leave and return back to Africa he could not stand it any longer and decided to follow in his footsteps.

The only matter I was genuinely worried about was in reality getting sacked from my line of work and having no income. It was not until a week before the shop was due to shut that my boss asked me to go with him to Africa as he was opening a new safari adventure for tourists. To be honest I nearly fainted, I instantly jumped at the chance.

When I arrived in Africa it was like it was a whole new world. A year on I am happier then I have ever been in life. There are a lot of people that like to have materialistic items such as a car or a fabulous house but personally I am just happy with my nice hut spending every single day looking after animals or taking tourists around.

For superb safaris, Kenya Safari and Zambia safari
